It's Friday

Time for Victor Davis Hanson to get us pumped up.

Typing that last sentence just brought something to mind: why doesn't Word automatically correct it when I type "fro" instead of "for"? Are there lots of people talking about afros out there? Even if there are, shouldn't the abbreviation have an apostrophe in there: "'fro"? Can I get a ruling on this?

By the way, I would like to welcome all of our new readers who have been popping over from Hugh Hewitt's site. A little background information on the Big Tenters--we are four historians who met in grad school at an anonymous university in the American Midwest. Two of us are professors; the other two are still finishing our degrees at the U (no, not that one). We are pretty much big tent conservatives, depending on the issue. More importantly, we love Alfred Thayer Mahan and his buddies, including Elihu Root, Leonard Wood, and especially Theodore Roosevelt. Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and feel free to comment or send us an email at the address above.
