Stephen, I told you the Hirshon bio was no good. In fairness to Hirshon, it appears that his discussion about war crimes in Sicily is based on James Weingartner, "Massacre at Biscari: Patton and An American War Crime," The Historian LII, no. 1, (November 1989), 24-39. But all of Hanson's criticisms of the argument still apply.
