Two Sundays ago, I ran on a team in the 44 mile Brew to Brew relay run. It starts at the Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City and finishes at Free State in Lawrence. Out of nowhere, the temperature that day shot up to 93 degrees. And all day, we ran into a minimum 25 mph headwind (gusts to 40). Good times.
We made it--happily I only ran three and a half hilly miles for my leg--and we found out today that we were the fastest of the fifteen military teams in the race (our team captain was Crayton Simmons). So we win! Kind of! (Don't tell them I'm not actually in the military.)
