History News Network--which is now blocked at my work for some reason--has a couple of nice articles on its homepage.
First, Robert E. Wright, "The Great Recession of 2008 and the Sordid Historiography of the Great Depression," is about as good and fair a short summary of the origins of the Great Depression that is possible.
Second, in "Who Was Stepan Bandera?" friend and mentor Norman Goda does a write up on a sordid character from World War II and early Cold War Ukraine and the misuse of history .
