Historian, Army officer hired to teach military history at UW-Madison.
By a small twist of fate, John Hall, the first holder of the Ambrose Hesseltine Chair, lived across the street from us two years ago. I am delighted to report that the Hall family are wonderful people, and the University of Wisconsin made an inspired choice. (Everyone at last weekend's Society for Military History Conference agreed.)
Congratulations John, and congratulations Wisconsin.
