Joseph Epstein reviews Malcolm Gladwell's latest book. Epstein is not as vigorous as this New Republic review, but they hit some similar themes.
I will only link two more today, because they are both long. First, an easier read: an essay from City Journal on Alexander Hamilton, a character most of us Big Tenters want to like, but just can't quite love.
Second, some musings by John Lukacs on the nature of human knowledge from The American Scholar. Maybe "musings" is the wrong word--he is awfully precise about the topic--but to call it an exposition on human knowledge would be to miss the point, I think. If you have some time, take a look. (On another note, Lukacs essay is a nice companion to the points made by John Lewis Gaddis in The Landscape of History, a book every historian and every social scientist should read.)

I have always taken Gladwell for what he was worth--just a guy who said some interesting things about some interesting statistics--nothing more.
