Big Deal for Teaching American History

If you dig through this Association of American University Presses catalogue, you will find in the University of Georgia Press section an easily missed note:

The Unraveling of America
A History of Liberalism in the 1960s
Allen J. Matusow
Paper, $28.95 | 978-0-8203-3405-9

Available in fall 2009
Back in print. A book documenting the rise and fall of 1960s liberalism that William Leuchtenburg, writing in the Atlantic, called “a work of considerable power.”
This is fantastic news. Matusow's wonderful book has been out of print for some time, and the University of Georgia Press has done us a real service my making this book available for classrooms once again. Pass on the word.

Awesome. I just picked up his book on Nixon's economic policies. His work is really underrated and under-appreciated.

He's a pretty decent poker player, too, but a little too much of a loudmouth for my taste.

I might self-indulgently add here that my next book is under contract with Georgia.
