He was a professor of mine at SFSU where he taught, among other courses, The History and Literature of Baseball. It was an amazing course and he was a great lecturer. He was also, according to a close friend, a “[G]ood shortstop, solid glove,” Mr. Zitrin said. “Slap hitter.”
