Just as the media loved McCain not only for the period after he essentially won the nomination, but also pretty much entirely since 2000. Seriously: Media bias stories are retarded. They just are. dcat
So are stories about how many houses a presidential candidate owns.
Sorry Greg, no. Not when the guy who owns the houses insists on calling the other guy an elitist. The houses were not in play until the guy incapable of remembering how many houses he owns, who believes $5 million is the threshold for being rich, and who married an heiress (whom he cheated on his sick wife for) who provides him with those riches, and who wears $520 Italian shoes decided to try to taint the other guy as an elitist. So it would have been a retarded story until the fact of how many houses he owns became relevant precisely because of an issue he raised. You do not get to cast about aspersions (toward a guy who made and didn't inherit his money) on an economically-based issue and then complain about the media culture (remember which candidate has proudly claimed the media to be "his base") when they pursue that charge. dcat
I don't think the Obama people want to be discussing the acquisition of houses, what with the whole Tony Rezko thing and all.Paul
Derek, if you re-read my lengthy comment you will find that not only do I agree that media bias stories are retarded but so are any stories about how or why the other candidate is rich, elitist or whatever. I guess in retrospect I should have included that I think stories about Obama being an elitist are retarded too.I am equally disgusted by ads that accuse the other guy of being rich. WHO F-ING CARES? There's way too much time and energy wasted on playing to people's biases and fears - from both sides.g_rob
G-Rob -- Right, but once McCain makes the accusations of elitism, Obama has not only a right but a responsibility to respond. Paul -- The Rezco connections are about as tenuous as connections can be. They do not come even close to McCain's role, however modest, in the Keating Five. Once again your inability to argue on substance would amaze if we did not all know your style so well. dcat
Taken separately, these associations of Barack's might be tenuous. But add up all of Obama's dealings with shady characters who are either crooks, radical preachers or UNREPENTANT terrorists and it reveals a stunning lack of judgment. I can handle arguing against libs on issues, but Obama has serious flaws for a man seeking the White House. Thin resume (and don't give me that community organizer bit), radical connections, gaffe-tastic without a teleprompter and naive on foreign policy.Oh, and by the way, I argue on substance all the time. I have plenty of policy disagreements with Obama and other liberal democrats. I think they are wrong on the issues. Their reflexive position on almost every issue is more government. Mine is the opposite. And why do you always get so upset when someone criticizes/insults your golden boy? Take the blinders off and recognize that he does have serious flaws that are open to criticism. Seriously, does it not bother you that his campaign tried to sick the justice department on a man who produced an ad about him?Oh, one more thing. I don't think you speak for the group, so you can drop the pretentious "WE all know your style."Paul
Chicken or the egg.
Are you drunk? Please tell me you are. That incoherent, pissy little rant couldn't have come from a sober mind. Paul
"Of the last ten presidents, which actually had more experience than did Obama?"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh. My. God. Let me go pick my ass up; I just laughed it off. Now I KNOW you were not on just pure air when you wrote this drivel. 143 days in the U.S. Senate, 100s of 'present' votes in the Illinois Senate, community organizer with ACORN. You'd honestly put that resume up against Ike-GWB?Paul
Does anyone here have any experience running a political campaign? I think that's relevant as well.
Paul -- you're right, that was out of line. dcat
Hug it out?Paul
