More Dancing at Boeing
Airbus has just announced that deliveries of its new, double-decked behemoth A380 passenger jet will be delayed by one year. While EADS and the major European customers for the A380 (Lufthansa, Air France, etc) are all downplaying the significance of the decision, in the short term Boeing will benefit in the value of its stock and, potentially, in orders for its new expanded 747 model and more orders for its 787 aircraft (a significant possibility, especially if aviation fuel prices keep trending up). My bet is that Airbus loses some A380 customers over this. I can hear Boeing execs giggling over their lattes from here....
