Way back in December 2005 I let it be known that I was switching jobs from the U.S. Army Center of Military History to the U.S. Army Combat Studies Institute to write a Global War on Terrorism Occasional Paper (among other things).
The paper copies will not be out for another month or so, but the electronic version is now available at the CSI website.
Here is the direct link: Thomas A. Bruscino, Jr., Out of Bounds: Transnational Sanctuary in Irregular Warfare, Global War on Terrorism Occasional Paper 17, Fort Leavenworth, KS: Combat Studies Institute Press, 2006.

Nice work, Tom. How can we get a paper copy when it comes out?
nice.
nice maps, too.
Looking forward to reading it tonight. Nice job, Tom.
Thanks guys. I hope you find it at least somewhat interesting.
I can't take credit for the maps, though. I lucked out and got some great help from one of my coworkers. She is a map genius, and has done work for some far better publications than mine. It was an excellent score for me.
