I told you that guy was a little off. That's why I did not support him in 2000.
That said, I would have preferred McCain's temper after Sept. 11, and if he does get the nomination in 2008 (not likely) I'll vote for him if he promises to kill more bad guys than the Democratic candidate.
I am not one of those liberals who likes McCain. I don't hate him but I don't love him either. But, I am not sure that I trust the sources in this piece. First, Bob Smith is a loose cannon and LeBoutillier is not a particularly trustworthy sort. I would assume that he and McCain got into it b/c LeBoutillier runs "Sky Hook II Project," which is dedicated to recovering living American POWs in Southeast Asia.
