Jonah Goldberg rehashes the hurricane. I have to admit that I've been pretty peeved about the panicky coverage of Katrina. It was a tragedy, no doubt, and the federal government should have jumped in quicker--but it was not even close to the terrible castrophe presented by journalists. That is the sad thing--the real tragedy, which was bad enough, has been obscured by the fouled-up coverage.
Plus it is hard to maintain sympathy when the people down there reelect a mayor who was almost completely incompetant in handling the situation. What a mess.
