This (100 mpg) is good stuff. One thing I'd be interested in knowing is the degree to which the efficiency change may also still be based on structural elements; the original Honda Insight actually made many of its increases through improved aerodynamics, smaller wheel base, etc. One thing the ethanol discussion ahead has not yet mentioned: recycled fast-food oil. And you can usually get it for free, without any engine conversions, provided you don't mind your car smelling like a giant french fry.
