This past week, the Dominion Institute, one of the premier Canadian nationalist institutions, produced a series of columns from some of the country's top historians and columnists on the myths and realities of the United States (as seen from Canada), called American Myths. The columns were on issues of military, justice, culture, democracy, and values, and were accompanied by a television series and a set of polls on the same issues. While I don't agree with some of their conclusions, and their view of the U.S. can get a little rose-coloured at times, it makes for some interesting reading.

Is the USA the Just Society in North America?
Is America the True Multicultural Experiment?
Is America the Real Democracy in North America?
