Peter King's MMQB

He went back to Athens for OU's homecoming, and he made me nostalgic. He also nailed this one on the head:

I don't mean to sound like a wise old owl or anything, but I've seen and heard so much hand-wringing over problem drinking on campus. I know it's a problem. A major one, I'm sure. And I'm sure much of what I'm about to say is rooted in ignorance about the scope of the problem. But college kids being drunk at 10 on a Saturday morning doesn't worry me much. We all did it. Most of us, anyway. The students I talked to Friday and Saturday are good kids, really good kids, who want to be good at what they do. They'll be fine.

Those students will not all be fine. That is a statistical fact. Binge drinking, while a part of many of our pasts, is nevertheless a genuine social problem. Anyone who poo poos it is an idiot.

Well argued, what with the lack of details or anything. But at least you anonymously called someone an idiot. Way to go.

Speaking of binge drinking, I'll be back at OU this weekend for yet another Halloween party, and then back the following friday for the OU v. Toledo game (which will be on ESPN2). My liver has already written several declarations of protest that have been thoroughly ignored. I love that place.
