Guys, I don't understand why conservatives feel the need to "debunk" or discredit Sheehan. Obviously, she is not a polished politician and her grasp on the complexities of world and national politics is lacking. The reason why Sheehan is getting attention is b/c the Bush administration's pronouncements in regard to Iraq have been way off and people are getting impatient with what looks like a never ending cycle of violence. Newflash---average citizen says something not particularly cogent and pretty stupid. She is not a politician or a statesman---she feels the war in Iraq has been a waste. Disagree with those ideas because that is the only policy arena in which her "ideas" matter. The Bush administration wouldn't have a Sheehan problem if they would be straight with the American people about Iraq and quit painting rosy pictures.
I don't agree that the Bush administration's pronouncements have been way off. I also don't think that the cycle of violence is "never ending." That is why Cindy Sheehan's ideas cannot be allowed to gain traction.

We went into the country to remove weapons that don't exist and never did. Bush's administration keeps painting the picture that Iraq is part of the war on terrorism so that the public forgets that we went in there with no justifiable reason. I would just like to know how much money we have to support our own domestic crisis if we were already going so far into debt fixing Iraq, or, more importantly, how long I'll be paying it off.

It was not conservatives who made Ms. Sheehan a key spokesperson for the antiwar and anti-Bush position, no matter the merits of those positions.
