Tom -- I don't really feel qualified to tell mark grimsley squat about military history, but you might want to gently point out to him that Africa does not appear to exist in his list. There has been a ton done on the Boer War, there was a great, Pulitzer prize winning book on WWII in Africa a couple of years back, and I am reading NMimi and Toutou Go Forth a fun book on the Battle of Lake Tanganyika.
