Poll Numbers
This post at the History News Network generated some comments about how historians will treat Bush. Something to keep in mind: Truman's approval ratings in his last year in office were terrible. Only about 1/3 of the public (polled) supported Truman, and at one point his approval rate hit 23%-- lower than Nixon's numbers during Watergate. This is not to say that low job approval ratings is not a problem. But they are certainly no indicator of how historians will eventually treat a President.
