We all remember the controversy over Bill Cosby's comments to the black community last year. Tonight, Nightline presented an interview and examination of his "Conversations with Cosby" events around the country. One thing that I noticed was that, despite the criticism of him lecturing to and blaming the poor, one of the local observers (and former critics) noted that he was not lecturing people, but engaging them. That certainly seemed to be the feeling from the footage of the meeting covered.
One other thing we might possibly discuss. Could this philosophy be extended beyond the United States and black America? This question seems particularly pertinent, what with the G8 Conference (and Live8 concerts) coming up next week.
