Century Foundation on Class

I had asserted in the comments of another discussion that most poor people don't stay poor. I stumbled across this report this morning. Clearly the Century Foundation sees the glass as half empty but even their numbers agree with my point. 58% of people born in poverty (bottom 1/5 of Americans) work their way out of it. 7% of people born into the bottom 5th end up in the top 5th.
I was in the bottom 5th until this tax year.
