Oh Canada...

We've gone international...

The Big Tent has a new addition, and he comes from the cold northern recesses of our continent (Toronto). Despite his recent defection from lovely southeast Ohio to the core of the evil empire, Mark, the reader fromerly known as "Maple Leaf," is now an active Big Tenter. He will be posting regularly as soon as he gets an internet connection into his igloo, but in the meantime he sends this little bit:

Wow! What an honour! I’m so overwhelmed, I don’t know what to say. I’ve dreamed about this moment for so long, and now it’s actually happening and I can’t believe it. After all that hard work sending in comments and links, and the dejection when some of them didn’t get noticed, I’ve finally made it. Let me say thank you to Tom, Stephen, J.D., and Ren; you guys are great! And thank you to all the readers out there, without whom we would be nothing, and without whom I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ll try not to let you down. Thank you!

Everybody's a smartacre. (He'll fit in fine.)

Welcome aboard.

Is it true that Canadians all have little tails that they hide with a special belt?

Mark, welcome. In light of your Canadian upbringing, your point of view will be especially valuable on items like health care, social security and the NHL.
And Stephen, they cut their tails off when they're young, like Doberman pinschers.
