Gallup Answers Our Question

According to this poll from Gallup, "9 out of 10 Americans say it is OK for people to wish others "Merry Christmas" as a way of spreading holiday cheer." 96% of Americans celebrate Christmas. 84% of Americans are Christians (9% have no religious identification. 5% have a non-Christian religion). Only 37% of 18-29 year-olds identify themselves as "Protestant." Gallup guessed that they did not know what "Protestant" meant. The number of self-identifying Catholics has remained pretty stable.

Merry Christmas (to 9/10 of you).
