Great Analogy

From the Eisenhower Center Oral Histories (Ambrose's stuff) -- John Fitzgerald of the 101st Airborne describing the confusion of the drops on D-Day:

If you can picture the cardboard of an egg carton and have someone with a handful of peas and drop them on this carton, the peas would all land in different compartments, in ones and twos and threes, and that's exactly how we landed. Everyone had the feeling they were alone or almost alone.
