As an aside, several famous athletes are actively supporting the president. C-SPAN showed Mary Lou Retton and Jim Kelly at the convention, and Lynn Swann has some official role in the campaign (something like co-chair of an African-American steering committee). Here is a list of some more athletes for the president (note, however, that Wilt Chamberlain is dead). What does this mean? Nothing. But when we are constantly bombarded with the opinions of celebrities who oppose President Bush, it is just interesting to see some famous people who support him.
