The first time I heard anyone make the statement, "we must leave no child behind," was in a speech made by Jesse Jackson in 1998. Maybe he didn't say it first; don't know. But it was the theme of his entire presentation, and a mantra he repeated at least thirty times. Mmmmm, crunchy.
