Try looking at the history of the two parties. That fictional press conference sounds a whole lot more like the Democrats of the past than the Republicans. There is no reason the Democrats had to surrender a muscular foreign policy to the Republicans, but they did, and Senator Kerry refuses to reclaim the history of his party. It might not be an alternative you like, but it is still an alternative, and a hell of a lot better to me than the touchy-feely b.s. Senator Kerry is shoveling.

Yes, it definitely would be simpler if Kerry followed Republican policies and we didn't have to worry about alternatives.
