Blah, blah, blah . . .

This is a dishonest media story about the media.  A consortium of 38 newspapers decided to drop Trudeau's Doonesbury strip and it is treated as a matter of diversity opinion in newspapers.  Wrong.  This is about money.  Editors get mail running 5-to-1 against Doonesbury, decide it's a liability to circulation, and vote to drop it.  Some complain that this is all so unfair.  My advice - quit your whining and do something.  The majority of papers in the consortium felt they were losing money because of Doonesbury and chose to stop losing money.  If the minority of papers feel that it really is a matter of principle, they can put their money where their mouth is and pay the extra money to acquire Doonesbury.  Otherwise, drop your false stance and shut up.
