Maple Leaf writes about the election for class president up north:

Well, it's election day up here in Canadia, and I'm just about ready to head to the polls to vote (not saying who for). It's been a very tight campaign, and the voting will probably be very close right up until the very end of the night. This means that the results from British Columbia in the west are very important, unlike past elections, where things were pretty much decided by the time the results from Ontario were in. While it won't be as dragged out as the presidential vote in 2000 was, it may not be until early tomorrow morning that a winner could be declared. Of course, based on most of the polling, it probably won't be much of a win, since a majority for either the Liberals or the Conservatives is looking very unlikely. However, even though it goes against all the polls and the apparent common sense right now, I'm going to stand behind my original prediction six weeks ago of a very slim Liberal majority. Part of this is out of stubbornness, and part of this is based on the large number of undecided voters in the recent polls, many of whom (if they end up voting at all) I think will end up voting Liberal. But since I'm most likely to be wrong, and someone will probably only have a minority, there's a pretty good chance we'll be doing all of this again before the end of the year, maybe around the same time as you all down south in November.
