Here's one for teaching civil rights
The caption isn't exactly right--check out Bernard Nalty, Strength for the Fight, for the precise details--but the picture and Sergeant Woodward's story (when Truman found out, he said 'My God! I had no idea it was that bad. We have to do something.') says so much about Jim Crow and why World War II triggered the modern civil rights movement.
