From the Big Tent mailbox (Fighting Sioux edition):

So, Spain took the easy way out and they have that option. Of course this
raises an important question. If the war in Iraq produced terror in Spain,
then isn't the war in Iraq a war against terrorism? In any case, the Spanish
voters believe that the Madrid bombings resulted from the Spanish/American
alliance in Iraq. Spain has thus chosen to run from terrorism, whoever the
culprits turn out to be. As Americans we cannot run - we have a responsibility
to defend the basic difference between right and wrong when others will not.
On that count we have a perfect record, and that's something a Spaniard or a
German or a Frenchman can never say.
