Dear Mr. Gore,
I recently heard your characterization of the president at a political rally and I felt that one good rant deserves another.
Now, I understand that you were caught in the heat of the moment and you felt comfortable among political friends, but you said that President Bush betrayed the United States? Betrayed? That's pretty nasty talk. Especially among those of us who have long memories. Long enough to recall a certain Vice President Gore receiving millions in illicit campaign funds from the People's Liberation Army for the 1996 campaign. Millions in campaign funds that were repaid in a quid pro quo of ease of access to American missile, computer and industrial knowledge. Knowledge whose spinoffs rapidly found their way into the hands of Pakistan, North Korea, Libya, Iran and Iraq. Knowledge, and all of its deadly applications, that is now in the hands of those that count it a mark of honor to be called our enemy. And after making the world a safer place for the sake of that dual sleezefest known as Billapalooza and Hillith Fair, do you remember your response when the campaign money became known? "No controlling legal authority." Mea culpa, but even though I've committed the ethical equivalent of mass murder, since there's no specific law on the books you have to live with it.
President Bush is a man, and like all men, he has flaws. Avoiding responsibility is not one of them. He is busy cleaning up a mess that others helped create because someone has to and he currently has the ability to do something about it. You don't have to agree with everything he has done, but when his acceptance of responsibility is placed beside your political expediency and utter lack of ethics, you, Mr. Gore, need to sit down, shut the f**k up, and watch your better try to make the world a better place.
